Opportunities in residential colleges for Form1 students in the Maktab Rendah Sains Malaysia for 2004 is now open to all Malaysian students who have completed the UPSR and secured 5As or 7As.
Based on last year’s decision by the government, 10% of places is being allocated to non Bumiputras. This was confirmed by YB Dato Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz, the Minister for Entrepreneur Development to Dato Seri S.Samy Vellu yesterday. Dato Seri Nazri affirmed government’s commitment in making places available for non-bumiputras. Furthermore he said that for 2003 non-bumiputra applications and admissions fell short of the 10% available places.
Dato Seri S.Samy Vellu, the MIC President calls on Malaysian Indians to apply for the 2004 intake. This is another golden opportunity for upward social mobility especially for bright and able high achievers from the community. This programme at the residential science colleges caters for Form 1 to Form 5 and is fully funded by government. Dato Seri S.Samy Vellu said that we are further discussing with government to enable the Indian students to be placed in larger numbers in 2 or 3 locations.
