YSS Project Management Team

Over the past 5 years YSS team has grown from one (1) full-time staff to about twenty (20) staff either full time or part-time. The roles and tasks undertaken by YSS have enlarged tremendously and cut across many different dimensions.

In an attempt to consolidate the operations of the projects, especially in fulfilling the government targets under the RM2.7 million budget, a project management team has been established with three key officers of YSS playing the leadership role.

Furthermore it is in the long-term interest of YSS that the leadership and management capabilities of YSS officers are strengthened. This is done through delegation of tasks as well as participation at exposure programmes and training sessions locally or abroad.

Project Operations Weekly Meeting

There are four (4) co-ordinating members who liase with the various officers. When necessary, other members are invited to join the meeting to provide clarifications and input.

Mrs Jasmine Adaickalam, who is the YSS service Director, co-ordinates the day-to-day operations of the project. In addition she supervises the Women’s Development Programmes.

Mr Victor Joseph, the YSS Assistant Director, co-ordinates the Youth Development Programmes.

Mr Param, the YSS Assistant Director, co-ordinates the Community Development Programmes.

They are also assisted by Mr K. Gunah in co-ordinating the Family Development Programmes.

These operational teams meet weekly to review the targets set and the day-to-day implementation of programmes, ensuring that they are carried out and that the relevant reports are prepared. This operational team submits a weekly report to Dr. Denison Jayasooria who has overall responsibility for the running of YSS.

YSS Officers' Monthly Meeting

A monthly YSS officers’ meeting is chaired by Dr Denison Jayasooria to discuss and review major developments in YSS. This meeting takes up common issues and concerns and directions of the various programmes. It does not address day-to-day operational issues. All the YSS officers attend this meeting.

All officers are now assigned with specific tasks and in our assessment they are carrying out their tasks efficiently. At times new tasks as well as last minute assignments can cause some stress to the regular duties.
