YSS Officers Visit to Special Crime Investigation Department at Bukit Aman

On 22 October 2003, YSS officers visited Police Headquarters of Crime Investigation Department D9 at Bukit Aman for a special briefing about the department. Fourteen YSS officers and volunteers attended this briefing.

The briefing started at 9.30 am at the first floor meeting room at Bukit Aman. Firstly before the briefing could start, Mrs. Jasmine Adaickalam gave an introduction about YSS, its origin as a social organization and its operational strategy for the community.

 

Tuan. ASP. Noor Azman B. Mohamed accompanid by C/Insp. Zuraini and C/Insp. Woon conducted the briefing. There was a power point presentation about the crime index in Malaysia according to state and race.

The YSS officers also raised a lot of questions during the presentation and the police officers answered all the questions and also gave some tips to participate with police to curb the social problem among the young youths. There was also discussion about the Chidren Act and Women protection ACT. The D9 officers explained about their Child Protection Unit (CPU) and Victim Care Centre (VCC), which related to the ACT and that is newly implemented in Bukit Aman.

 

The briefing ended with a thank you speech and souvenir presentation to the officers on behalf of YSS by Mrs Jasmine Adaickalam, Service Director. After the briefing the police officers also invited the YSS officers for refreshments and then took us on a to visit the Victim Care Centre (VCC) which comes under the D9 department.
