KUALA LUMPUR, 20 November 2011- Family day celebrates the bond of togetherness that is shared with near and dear ones. It is a day for all to celebrate, including businesses, unions, religious, organizations and community groups.
Yayasan Strategic Social with the cooperation of MIC divisions and support of Economic Planning Unit (EPU) and AmanahSahamNasionalBerhad (ASNB) plans to conducts ‘Family Day’ in more than 200 places throughout the country involving the 58 parliament constituencies. As a first step, Yayasan Strategic Social conducted such event in two places such as Sg.Buloh and Batu Caves on 19th and 20th November 2011 respectively.

Family Day Celebration

It was a joyful day for many people surrounding Sg.Buloh and Batu Caves area. More than 300 participants including family members, friends, MIC members and YSS Staffs took part in this event to make it a great success.

This celebration is believed to have benefited the Indian Community at large. Among the activities organized at the event were Monopoly, Coconut Bowling, Futsal, Sumo-Wrestling and many more. To add the spirit of joy, MIC Secretary General Mr.S.Murugesan also joined with the public and took part in the events.

Family Day Celebration

The objective of this programme is mainly to create happiness and harmony among the neighbourhood. This is also a good platform for the leaders to overcome the lack of leadership. Such event also creates understanding between the community and the leaders at the same time enhancing and strengthening the relationship between the local leaders and the local residents.
